Broccoli Cheese Soup

I LOVE this soup and it is easy to make. Thought I would share since it is cold outside (for most) and a yummy, hot soup can really hit the spot.

Broccoli Cheese Soup - 6 servings

4 cups chicken broth

1 cup water

1 cup half and half

4 slices Kraft cheddar singles

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

4 cups broccoli florets (bite-size)

Combine first 7 ingredients, use whisk to break up flour. Turn to med/high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low. Add broccoli, simmer 15-20 minutes. Garnish with shredded cheese and bacon bits, if desired. ***My own personal tip for this recipe is to add the cheese singles after the liquid comes to a boil so it melts rapidly and doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot and burn.***

Just yesterday I asked Dave to make Broccoli Cheddar soup instead of the regular old Cream of Broccoli, and he told me to find a recipe and he would. Thanks for making my end of the deal easy!
