And as if that wasn't enough...

let me tell you about Abe's day. He was leaving Zane's room to go pick up lunch for us. He went to move my unzipped camera bag from Brody's stroller and my 28-135mm lens fell out and onto the floor. This lens cost us nearly $400. There was broken glass all over the floor and a huge dent on the end of the lens. Well upon further inspection I think the damage was only to the filter I had on the lens, which was only $25. The lens glass did not break but I don't know if we will be able to remove the filter or have to take it into the shop and have it done. I also haven't tested the lens yet, so who knows at this point if it even works.

So he goes on his way and calls me about 20 minutes later to tell me that he just spent the last 15 minutes in the parking lot breaking into the Durango after locking Brody inside it. Fortunately the car was running (with the A/C on) and Brody slept through the whole thing. The door did not shut all the way and Abe had a hanger in his truck (we took both cars to the hospital) so he was able to break in without busting out a window.

A couple hours later Abe was leaving to run home and take care of our dog, Mackie. He called me and said he just discovered his iPod is broken. He just got it a few months ago for his birthday. It will still play music but the screen is broken, under the glass and you cannot read anything. There really isn't anything displayed at all, just a weird burn mark. He had it in the field with him last week and it was probably damaged out there but he hadn't looked at it until today.

He certainly had a black cloud over his head today. He wouldn't even drive the Durango to let the dog out or get dinner, for fear that he might have a car accident. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day all the way around.
