Well after weeks of not knowing anything about our future, Abe called the guy "in charge" of our Army path (at the moment) and got some answers. He said a utilization tour would be no problem. Which means Abe WILL get to fly airplanes upon completion of his training. And the only way to get a MI (military intelligence) assignment in Korea (or anywhere, for that matter) is to begin his training at Ft. Rucker (Alabama) on November 11. If he doesn't do that he will be assigned to a VIP unit. Abe can rack up the flight hours at a MI unit in Korea. VIP? Not so much. So we gave him the go ahead for November 11 even though that will likely mean we have to alter our dates to DisneyWorld that we had already planned for the week of Thanksgiving. He'll finish at Ft. Rucker the end of February and go to Arizona for roughly two months. He will sign into his new unit in Korea in May. The boys and I will stay in TX during all this and join him in Korea after the school year ends.
Now we get to decide whether to rent out the house or try to sell it. And that might mean selling sooner than later and moving on post in the interim.
Of course until we have orders in hand, this is all subject to change. But as of right now, this is the plan.

I second Dorie's comment.
How cool is that! I look forward to the day when y'all are all together for 3 years!
Glad there is a plan!
Will be sad to see you go...but that's the army life for us.
thats awsome beth!! I cant wait till ya'll get there! I have a list of things i need! LOL j/k Hey if you sew or quilt... there is an awsome fabric market there ..2$ a yard of pretty much anything u can think of.. If they dont have the print u want.. They'll order it. Oh and knock off purses! Ohh and paintings!! =) ANd best of all.. The food. The only downside.. Your boys will be just like my girls.. FAMOUS with the korean people..THey will come up and touch them and take pictures with their phones... and want to pick them up..Its weird but you'll get used to it. They will be celebrities!! =) You can get them into modeling and make pretty good money..It was always too time consuming for me and i didnt like going to far off with just me and the girls. But they make great money!
Wow exciting stuff! That is a big deal Abe, congratulations. So crazy to read this and think we could've been on a similar (or similarly uncertain) path but Dave wasn't picked up this time. Best wishes to you all for this whole endeavor. Army life sure can be a wild ride!
