My two sisters and my two nephews were in town over the weekend. You can see them pictured below Gwen (left), Correne (right), Gabe (center) and Jake. They arrived Friday night and stayed until Monday. We had a fun-filled weekend even though we didn't leave the house very much. Saturday night we went to eat at a German restaurant in Kempner (2 towns west of us). After that we went shopping at the post exchange. My parents arrived Saturday night as the boys were going to bed. That was a pleasant surprise. They were just passing through on their way to Langtry, TX. They left here on Sunday to continue on their journey. While they were here we played Mexican Train Dominoes. It was their first time playing and they seemed to enjoy it. My parents also helped me get my Christmas stuff back in the attic, as well as, some baby toys and items we are storing for the future. In addition to Mexican Train, my sisters and I played lots of cards; Canasta and a card game called Spite and Malice. The boys had fun playing with toys, watching movies, drawing, chasing the dog and cat (Jake seriously needs a pet) and reminding us adults of how much energy we once had. Jake and Zane are the same age and sometimes butt heads. But for the most part, Zane really enjoys playing with his cousins. He even seemed sad as he told them "bye bye" today. We look forward to many more visits in the time to come. You can see more pictures of the boys in the photo collection, at right.
